First Ferry’s local ferry services carry an average of up to 34,000 passengers daily. To satisfy different needs, a variety of facilities and services at piers and onboard are maintained.

Carriage of Freight

Passengers are eligible to bring no more than one piece of travelling case or bag not exceeding 32 inch (Width) x 23 inch (Height) x 12 inch (Depth) in size, baby-car or small shopping trolley free of freight charge when boarding ordinary ferries or fast ferries, and to follow the instructions of the company staff to properly store their items in designated areas.

Passengers bringing any freight out of the aforesaid items onboard have to travel by ordinary ferries (No freight is allowed onboard fast ferries.) and shall pay the corresponding freight fare* at the freight ticketing office before boarding.

* According to the Ferry Licence, freight rates for outlying islands ferry routes per cubic meter are as follows: HKD$170.0(Central – Cheung Chau), HKD$162.4(Central – Mui Wo) and HKD$56.6 - 70.8 (Inter Islands). Actual charge of each piece of freight is subject to the final decision of freight ticketing office staff’s examination of the actual size and type of freight.

Wi-Fi Broadband Network Service

Passengers can enjoy 20-minute free Wi-Fi service through the Wi-Fi adaptors on Vita vending machines inside the piers. (For details, please refer to information posted on the vending machines)

Deluxe Class Upgrade Service

First Ferry offers Deluxe Class Upgrade Service on ordinary ferries plying between Central and Cheung Chau as well as Central and Mui Wo. Ordinary class passengers can choose to upgrade to deluxe class by paying the price difference (tender exact fare or using Octopus Card) onboard 10 minutes after the departure of sailing.
