New World First Ferry Services Limited (“First Ferry”) is pleased to introduce the brand new “Student Monthly Ticket” to its ferry services of Central-Cheung Chau and Central-Mui Wo routes for the first time, offering fare concession to students aged between 12 and 25 who are currently studying in full-time day courses provided by acceptable institutions in Hong Kong. The Student Monthly Ticket will be sold at more than 50% discount off the purchase of adult single journey tickets for every trip in one month.

 

Holder of the Student Monthly Ticket is entitled to make one round-trip of ordinary class of ordinary ferry for specified route, which must be completed on the same day. The fare of the Student Monthly Ticket of Central-Cheung Chau and Central-Mui Wo ferry routes are HK$391 and HK$407.1 respectively.

 

“The Student Monthly Ticket was originally scheduled to be rolled out during the new licence period,” says Dr Lau Yun-cheung, Managing Director of First Ferry. “In response to the opinions of local communities and to help alleviate students’ burdens in travelling promptly, First Ferry has allocated additional resources to expedite the relevant preparation works and has brought the online application forward to this month for eligible students to register. Successful applicants can purchase the March Student Monthly Ticket at the end of February and enjoy the concessionary fares in March.”

 

Eligible students can submit their applications via “Student Monthly Ticket” website www.nwff.com.hk/studentmonthlyticket from now on. The first batch of students who completed their applications on or before 31 January and received the email of “Successful Application” can enjoy the priority of purchasing the March Student Monthly Ticket starting from 23 February by using the registered Octopus at First Ferry’s Customer and Octopus Service Centres at Central Pier No. 5, Central Pier No.6, Cheung Chau Pier or Mui Wo Pier

 

“Online Application of Student Monthly Ticket” is open for applications all year round and it takes around one month for processing before issuance.
